What Is a Brow Lift?
What is a Brow lift? With normal aging, the forehead skin often descends on the face. This will cause the eyebrows to descend. This excess skin cannot be removed from the upper eyelid. Patients often think that they need eyelid surgery but the real problem is the forehead or brow.
Brow lifts are often performed endoscopically. The incisions are in the scalp and the procedure is performed through small incisions while looking at a monitor. There is no visible scar on the forehead because the incision is in the scalp. The forehead skin in lifted and it will adhere to the bone in the new position. There is minimal downtime and discomfort after surgery. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis in a surgical suite or hospital setting.
This procedure can be performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery if necessary. This will be determined at the time of your consultation. Often a brow lift alone can give the eyes a brighter more opened look. See before and after pictures below.
